Arizona man arrested after woman he allegedly sexually abused on jogging trail fought back, police say – Yahoo News

An Arizona man was arrested over the weekend after he was fought off by a woman he allegedly tackled and sexually abused on a jogging trail, authorities said Tuesday.

Steven Ryan Michael, 27, approached the adult victim from behind on the Skunk Creek Trail near 75th Avenue and Paradise Lane in Peoria on Saturday, the Peoria Police Department said.

Michael grabbed the woman and threw her to the ground, according to police. He allegedly got on top of her and then sexually abused her.

But the victim “aggressively fought” Michael and broke free before calling 911 for help, police said.

Steven Ryan Michael, 27, allegedly grabbed a female jogger and threw her to the ground before he got on top of her and sexually abused her.

Officers tracked down Michael near where the alleged attack occurred and arrested him without incident.

Michael was located near the scene of the alleged attack and taken into custody without incident.

Michael was booked on multiple felony counts including sexual abuse, attempted sexual assault, aggravated assault and kidnapping.

Michael faces multiple felony charges in connection with the incident.

Authorities asked anyone who witnessed the incident to call the Peoria Police Department Special Victim’s Unit at 623-773-8874.

Woman shot, seriously injured during jog – WAGM

GREEN HILLS, Tenn. (WSMV/Gray News) – A woman was shot and seriously injured while out for a jog in Tennessee Monday, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Responding officers said a 26-year-old woman was out for a run just after 11 p.m. when a dark-colored sedan approached her, WSMV reported.

Police said two armed people got out of the car and tried to rob the jogger.

Authorities said there was a scuffle and the woman was shot several times in the arm and legs. She was taken to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
